American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED Flow Navigator RN for a night shift position in a Level II trauma center Emergency Department, requiring at least 2 years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in an ED setting.

Details

• Large Emergency Care Center with 101 beds in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
• Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required; scheduling must meet departmental needs and block scheduling is not available
• Floating is required within all sections of the ED but not outside of the ED
• Support staff includes techs (cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, triage) and unit clerks on days and nights
• Equipment used includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Documentation system: Cerner

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Required certifications prior to start: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI (or accepted equivalent such as SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA), and NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) strongly preferred
• Previous HCA experience preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Ability to work flexibly across all areas of the ED
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• The ED Flow Navigator role requires active engagement with patient flow, real-time coaching, and ensuring patient experience standards including AIDET communication, board updates, and keeping patients informed throughout their visit
• Navy scrubs are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
