American Traveler is seeking an experienced oncology RN for a night shift travel position on a 24-bed Oncology/Women's Surgical unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active ONC certification.

• Position is located on the 9th floor Oncology/Women's Surgical unit (K9A) of an 815-bed acute care hospital in Asheville, NC
• 24-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
• Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Oncology and women's surgical patient population
• Procedures performed on unit include occasional pelvic exams, echocardiograms, and thoracentesis
• Standard unit equipment in use; EMR is Cerner
• Staff are required to work 6 weekend days per schedule
• On-call is rare
• Floating to other med/surg units is possible, though the team rarely floats
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
• ONC (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required for all RNs in this oncology role
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in oncology required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Chemo certification is preferred and will be prioritized during candidate review
• The ideal candidate is a team player with a willingness to learn
• RN dress code: navy, white, or a combination of both colors
