American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) position requiring Epic EMR proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of PCU or ICU experience, working night shifts in Albany, NY.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCCU) of a large academic medical center
• Patient population includes high-acuity medical and surgical patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications
• Average patient load of 3 high-acuity patients
• Proficiency required with advanced hemodynamics including pressor usage per titration protocols, antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombolytics, A-line, CVP, EVD, orthopedic traction, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and Oxypendent
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (7P–7:30A travel shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Current AHA or RQI certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or ICU RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience is required — candidates without Epic experience will not be considered
• US Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
• Flu vaccine required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted (personal and religious declinations are not accepted)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Nurses with large-scale adult PCU experience and community hospital ICU experience are well-suited for this role
• A competency test must be completed within 24 hours of consideration — ensure your email address is current
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible for this position: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• No blocked scheduling is permitted
• More than 3 call-outs in a 13-week period may result in contract termination; make-up shifts must be completed within 6 weeks of the last call-out
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application
• Travel pairs are not allowed for this position
