Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an ICU/CCU position at a community hospital in Yakima, WA, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the 2NW Advanced Care Unit (ACU/CCU) of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds
• Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, post-cath patients, and surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI)
• Common procedures include chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, monitoring femoral arterial sheaths (travelers do not pull femoral sheaths), and blood product administration
• Drip management includes diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitroglycerin, and heparin
• BiPAP management is part of the patient care scope
• Arterial line experience is preferred; Impella and/or IABP experience is preferred
• Charting is done in Epic
• 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may be required to Telemetry (2EW), Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units

Requirements

• Active WA state RN license or compact RN license valid in WA required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Demonstrated experience with the specified patient types and procedures, including chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring
• Must have completed at least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Two supervisor-level references required (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) prior to start

• Candidates are not considered first-time travelers; at least one completed travel assignment is required
• Clinical interview via SimpliFi is required, followed by unit final approval
• Any color professional scrubs are acceptable
• 13-week contract
