American Traveler is hiring a travel RN - Case Manager for an acute hospital in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license in hand and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Work setting is a 407-bed acute care hospital that is a Magnet-designated facility, Level II Trauma Center, and recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
• Position is in the Case Management unit
• Schedule is 5x8-hour day shifts, with shift start times ranging from 0700–0830
• Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule
• Floating is required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate facilities; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting is performed using Epic (required)
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is free

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license currently in hand is required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACM-RN certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Acute hospital case management experience required, including care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and plan of care development
• Familiarity with CMS regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and Milliman Guidelines (preferred)
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Copy of certifications required for consideration
• Hepatitis B vaccine required; titers and declinations are not accepted by the facility

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessments, DME ordering, plan of care development, and application of Milliman Guidelines
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Holiday coverage required: must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day)
• RTO is limited to one request of 5 days or fewer per 13-week assignment; no holiday RTO
• Block scheduling is not available
• Former permanent staff must be separated from Providence for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year at this facility before requiring a minimum 6-month break prior to returning
• Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
