American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Case Manager for a travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and Epic proficiency.

• Acute care hospital setting at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as a top hospital in Alaska
• Case Management unit with responsibilities spanning care coordination, discharge planning, and utilization review
• 407-bed facility using Epic EMR (experience required)
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, with shift start times ranging from 0700–1700 depending on unit needs
• Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend days per 4-week schedule
• Floating required within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• No on-call required
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active AK RN license currently in hand is required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACM-RN certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of case management or acute care RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Acute care hospital experience required
• Proficiency in care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, plan of care, and utilization of Milliman Guidelines
• Familiarity with CMS and HIPAA regulatory guidelines
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN, DOB, and copy of certifications required for consideration
• Hepatitis B vaccination required; titers and declinations are not accepted

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year in their assignment, after which a minimum 6-month break is required before returning to the same facility
• RTO is limited to one request of 5 days or fewer per 13-week assignment
• Travelers must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day; no holiday RTO
