American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) position at a 110-bed unit serving geriatric and post-acute med/surg patients on 12-hour night shifts.

Details

• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting within a Transitional Care Unit (TCU) and Long-Term Care (LTC) environment
• Patient population includes geriatrics and post-acute med/surg; TCU patients are transitioning to home, hospice, or LTC — similar to an inpatient rehab unit
• LTC patient ratios: 1:20 days / 1:38 nights; TCU patient ratios: 1:12 days / 1:15 nights
• CNA support ratios: 1:10 days / 1:18 nights
• Unit support includes a receptionist/HUC on weekdays, a Resident Care Manager as charge nurse on weekdays, a Medication Aide on the 1500–2300 shift, and hospitalist and phlebotomy services available from the hospital
• EMR systems: Meditech and Caretracker (experience preferred)
• Medication dispensing via Pyxis; IV pumps available; no bedside monitors
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week; shift times are 1830–0700
• Weekend rotation on an as-needed basis to balance the schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required between the TCU and LTC units

Requirements

• Active MT or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior SNF or LTC experience required
• Proficiency in medication pass, wound care, IV skills, catheter care, and suctioning
• Must be comfortable taking on a charge nurse role when asked
• Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth (month and day) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to geriatric and post-acute patients in both TCU and LTC settings
• May be asked to serve in a charge nurse capacity
• Orientation consists of 1–2 shifts
• Holiday coverage assistance is expected
• All time-off requests should be submitted upfront before the contract begins
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Parking is available on site
• Unit culture is described as team-oriented with strong staff longevity
• First-time travelers may be considered with relevant LTC or SNF experience
