American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a night shift travel contract requiring craniotomy and burr hole experience across neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, and general/robotics/trauma service lines.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Operating Room covering Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma service lines
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Scheduled Friday through Sunday
• No on-call requirements
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Altera (Allscripts) EMR experience preferred but not required
• Da Vinci Xi Surgical System (robotics) experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS required; ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience required
• Experience with neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, and general/robotic surgery strongly preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
• Must reside more than 150 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates

Additional Information

• Surgical procedures include craniotomies, spinal fusions, total joint replacements, trauma cases (GSW, MVA, amputations), and a full range of general and laparoscopic surgeries
• Robotics experience preferred, specifically with the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred but not required
• Facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, including for marijuana — a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive test, including CBD products, prior to and during the assignment
• Orientation includes non-billable online modules averaging 6–8 hours
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates (within 150 miles) are not accepted for this position
