American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring Epic proficiency and active TN or compact licensure for a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

• Cardiac and pulmonary telemetry Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
• Floating may be required to other Med/Surg Telemetry units or low-acuity ICU
• Epic EMR required (experience within the last 12 months)
• Relevant skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, cardiac drip management (no titration), vasoactive drip management (no titration), heparin protocols, PCA, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound care/wound vac
• Patient population includes post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, CVA, renal failure, pre/post hemodialysis, and ventilated patients

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN state license or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or telemetry nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months required
• Must pass an Epic competency exam (one attempt only)
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Valid government-issued driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of initial consideration — no additional RTO will be approved after submission

Additional Information

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travel experience is preferred but not required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience are preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as travelers should disclose this, as return staff are subject to a staffing review
• Men must be clean-shaven to pass a fit test; failure due to facial hair will not be accommodated
