American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week travel contract on an Orthopedic/Med-Surg inpatient unit, requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience with an IL RN license.

Details

• Inpatient orthopedic and med/surg unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• No on-call requirements
• Level 1 Trauma facility
• Epic EMR — experience required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• English proficiency required (speak, read, write)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Assess orthopedic and med/surg patients each shift and develop/modify individualized plans of care
• Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
• Coordinate with physician and surgeon partners on patient care
• Delegate and monitor interventions performed by HCT staff
• Set up and manipulate orthopedic and surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care
• Manage wound appliances including wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support the healthcare team
• Complete annual education as required to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements (if applicable)
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
