American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a hospital-wide Float Pool position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience across ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health, with an Idaho or Compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Nursing Resource Team (NRT), a float pool department serving multiple service lines including ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health (Adult Acute, Youth Acute, and Addiction Recovery)
• Unit bed counts range from 21–35 beds depending on the assigned unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: ICU 1:1–2, Med/Surg & ED-boarded Med/Surg 1:5–6, PCU 1:3–4, Behavioral Health 1:5–6 (days) / 1:10 (overnight)
• Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation will be required in this role
• 12-hour shifts, both day (0700–1930) and night (1900–0730); schedule is determined by unit needs
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is a core function of this role — assignments span all supported service lines hospital-wide; mid-shift floats may occur as needed

Requirements

• Active Idaho RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Minimum of 3 years of experience across all of the following areas (experience may be concurrent): ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health/Psych (adult acute, youth acute, and addiction recovery)
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation
• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program; BSN highly preferred
• Department of Health & Welfare Background Fingerprinting required due to Behavioral Health floating
• 2 professional references required: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsible for providing nursing care across a wide range of patient populations and care settings, requiring a high level of adaptability and time management
• Certifications including Restraint-C, MOAB (8-hour class), and Boundaries (1-hour module) will be covered during general onboarding
• Equipment training, including KBH/YA Restraint Board and lifts, is provided during onboarding
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
