American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a hospital-wide Float Pool position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience across ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health settings, with rotating shifts and every-other-weekend availability.

Details

• Hospital-based Nursing Resource Team (NRT), a float pool department covering ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health (Adult Acute, Youth Acute, and Addiction Recovery) service lines
• Patient populations vary by unit and include critical care, progressive care, medical-surgical, emergency, and behavioral health patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: ICU 1:1-2, PCU 1:3-4, Med/Surg and ED boarded Med/Surg 1:5-6, and Behavioral Health 1:5-6 on days and 1:10 on overnights
• Unit bed counts range from 21 to 35 beds depending on the assigned unit
• Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation is utilized in this role
• Equipment includes KBH/YA restraint boards and patient lifts
• 12-hour shifts, both day (0700-1930) and night (1900-0730); schedule is dependent on unit needs
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating is a core function of this role; NRT RNs may also float mid-shift as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license in Idaho or a valid Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Department of Health & Welfare Background Fingerprinting required due to Behavioral Health floating
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in all of the following areas (experience may be concurrent): ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health/Psych (adult acute, youth acute, and addiction recovery)
• Experience with cardiac drips required
• Experience with non-invasive ventilation required
• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program; BSN highly preferred
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care across a variety of units and patient populations
• Must demonstrate strong adaptability, time management, and flexibility when working with diverse teams across multiple units
• Restraint C certification, MOAB 8-hour class (KBH/YA), and a Boundaries 1-hour module are completed during general onboarding/orientation
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
