American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) position, requiring trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license.

Details

• Position is in the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) with float requirements to SICU and other critical care units
• NCCU is a 10-bed unit handling primary stroke cases, neuro surgery, and complex neuro-medical disorders
• SICU is an 18-bed ICU treating surgical, trauma, neuro, plastics, multiple organ failure, and sepsis patients
• Patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, neurosurgical procedures, and advanced critical care needs
• Advanced monitoring equipment used, including ICP monitoring, PA lines, and ventriculostomies
• Work schedule is 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active NH or compact state RN license required and must remain active throughout the assignment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience within the last 2 years is mandatory
• Proficient in advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, ICP monitoring, and administration of pressors and inotropes
• Experience with ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, bolts, EVD, PA lines, and waveform interpretation

Additional Information

• Will assist with line insertions, maintenance, and management of lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients
• Involved in the care of complex neuro and surgical cases in a high acuity environment
• No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
• Teamwork required across multiple critical care units with support from specialized staff
• Role may include care of patients undergoing emergent neurological interventions
