Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med-Surg RN for a night shift 13-week contract, requiring a NM or compact RN license and recent Med-Surg travel experience.

Details

• Work in a Med-Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults requiring general medical and surgical care
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
• Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR is used and onsite training is available

Requirements

• Active New Mexico or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification from AHA, American Health and Safety, or Red Cross
• Minimum of two years recent Med-Surg RN experience required
• At least one previous 13-week travel assignment required
• Associates degree in nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Must be flexible, a team player, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and document all interventions and responses
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care
• Supervise LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel as needed
• Pass/fail testing may be required during orientation for some specialties, but not required for Med-Surg
• Returning employees must wait one year after prior permanent employment before being reconsidered as a traveler
• Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided during onboarding
