Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a skilled nursing and rehab unit position in a long-term care facility, requiring an active IL RN license and strong Med/Surg skills.

Details

• Work in skilled nursing and rehabilitation units within a long-term care setting
• Direct patient care for up to 20 residents per nurse, with an average daily census of 72
• Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week, 18:30-07:00
• Every other weekend rotation is required
• Provides care for dementia and surgical patients, including IV medications and wound care
• Uses lifting equipment for patient handling
• Charting is currently on Powerchart and transitioning to Matrix EMR

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a similar setting
• Current IV certification, BLS, and ACLS required before starting
• Experience with Med/Surg and acute care recommended
• Dementia training or experience highly recommended
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility

Additional Information

• Provide specialized medical and rehabilitation care to dementia and surgical patients
• Works closely with CNAs and HCAs in a team environment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No on-call responsibilities

• Scrubs must be any shade of blue
• No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; RTO not permitted during orientation week; holiday time off is limited
• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may stay up to 18 months with a required 3-month break after the term
