Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a step-down/SDU unit (comparable to ICU) on night shifts, requiring an active NJ RN license and at least 1 year of ICU experience.

Details

• Step-down unit (SDU) with acuity and care expectations comparable to an ICU setting
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 12-hour shifts
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license required (compact license accepted if NJ is included)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsible for comprehensive patient assessments across the continuum of care, including pre- and post-operative evaluation and patient/family education
• Maintains accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with nursing process guidelines
• Follows National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and dual patient identification standards
• Demonstrates competency with emergency equipment and procedures in a high-acuity environment
• Travelers who have been on assignment for one calendar year must take a 30–60 day break before beginning a new assignment at this facility
