American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position focusing on VAD management, requiring a MI RN license and EPIC experience.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) within a hospital setting
• Provides care primarily for patients with ventricular assist devices (VADs), including HeartMate 3, HeartMate 2, and BrioVAD
• Majority outpatient work with some duties in procedural areas
• Day shift schedule, typically 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 to 17:30, Monday through Friday
• Uses the Epic EMR system, experience required
• Cases focus on destination therapy for durable VAD devices

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• VAD-C certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years' CVOR RN experience required, 3 years preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Strong knowledge and experience with VAD equipment and alarm management

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include providing expert education to staff, patients, and caregivers on VAD devices
• Serve as an expert resource for hospital staff regarding equipment and alarm troubleshooting in the OR and procedural areas
• Duties include equipment management, integrity checks, device downloads, and escalation to manufacturers as needed
• Responsible for triaging VAD-related issues from call center, emergency line, and patient portal
• 210 patients currently managed by the unit
