American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Psychiatric position at an acute inpatient hospital in the Scranton-Wilkes-Barre, PA area, requiring recent BH/Psych experience and physical restraint experience.

Details

• Acute inpatient psychiatric hospital setting in the Scranton–Wilkes-Barre metro area of northeastern PA, approximately 40 miles from the NY-NJ border
• Treats adult through geriatric patients, with an adolescent unit opening in April
• Conditions treated include mental health and behavioral disorders, substance abuse, and addiction
• Patient ratio is 1:20 depending on acuity
• Restraint procedures are used and documented on this unit
• Shift options: 5x8-hour shifts (2:00 PM–10:30 PM) or 4x10-hour shifts (2:00 PM–12:30 AM)
• Documentation via Epic EMR with paper charting used specifically for restraints
• Omnicell medication system; on-site pharmacy available 24/7
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania (PA) RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in behavioral health (BH) or psychiatric nursing required
• Hands-on experience with patient restraints required

Additional Information

• Orientation is 3–5 days and includes Handles With Care de-escalation training at no charge
• Gray scrubs required
• Candidates living within 30 miles of the facility are considered local and qualify for local pay rates; those living beyond 30 miles qualify for travel pay rates
• The facility is located near a ski resort in the scenic northeastern PA region
