American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level 1 trauma and multi-specialty service line expertise.

Details

• Position is located in a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital operating room
• Handles all patient acuities including trauma, with cases ranging from general surgery to neuro, ortho, plastics, ENT, GYN, GU, thoracic, and endoscopy
• Performs procedures across all age populations, including pediatrics in emergencies
• Operates with advanced technology such as Davinci Robot (x3), stealth, o-arm, and holmium lasers
• Consists of 12 OR suites
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Shifts are 8 and 12 hours (0630-1500, 0630-1900, or 1830-0700) based on self-scheduling and departmental needs
• Includes weeknight call (one 4-hour call per week after a shift), weekend call about every 5 weeks, and holiday call on a rotational basis
• No floating outside of the OR

Requirements

• Active NE or compact RN license required at time of application
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience and demonstrated competency in all listed service lines
• Level 1 trauma OR experience is required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Prior experience with Epic preferred
• Driver’s license required to verify residence outside a 50-mile radius
• Candidates may not have been full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year
• Artificial nails are prohibited for patient care staff
• Pass open book skills exam during orientation with a 90% score required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care across a wide range of specialties and acuities, including trauma and emergency pediatric cases
• Work alongside charge nurses, OR techs, and a multidisciplinary surgical team
• One week of unit-specific orientation provided
• Green hospital-provided scrubs must be worn
• Required to submit two professional references: one supervisor from within the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer from within the past 3 years
• Initial RTO (requested time off) must be submitted upfront and limited to 7 days or less per 13 week contract; additional RTO will not be approved
