Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Orthopedics position in an acute trauma level 1 setting requiring an active IL RN license and 2 years of med/surg or postop care experience.

Details

• Work in a 43-bed Orthopedics unit within an acute hospital setting
• Patient population includes med/surg, postoperative orthopedic, and trauma cases with fractures
• Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4-5 on day shifts and 1:5-6 on night shifts
• Uses Phillips telemetry monitors and EPIC EMR
• CPAP and heated high-flow equipment used as needed
• 12-hour night shifts with a requirement to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday nights)
• Travel RNs may occasionally float to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Primary charge RN present each shift with 24/7 house supervisor support
• PCTs assist on the unit with typical ratios of 1:7-8

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of acute Med/Surg or postoperative orthopedic nursing experience
• Experience with postoperative surgical care, general med/surg care, and EPIC EMR required
• All certifications must be active at time of consideration; pending certifications are not accepted

• Provide care for a wide variety of med/surg, postoperative orthopedic, and trauma patients
• Must adhere to a professional dress code; any color scrubs permitted, with tattoos and piercings covered
• Negative drug screen for all panels required for consideration due to facility being a drug-free campus
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
• No call or standby requirements
• No COVID-19 vaccine required for this position
• No radius rule; local rates apply for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
