Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in a correctional facility, requiring an active IL RN license and the ability to work every other weekend.

Details

• Position is based in a correctional facility Med/Surg unit
• Shifts are 3x12 hours from 11:00 am to 11:30 pm
• Every other weekend scheduling is required
• Floating to meet facility needs is mandatory and may include assignment to other units within the system up to 50 miles away and may be on short notice
• No block scheduling accommodations are available
• EMR system used is Cerner

Requirements

• Active IL RN license (no pending licensure accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in Med/Surg
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Correctional nursing experience preferred
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required

Additional Information

• Scrub color required is navy blue
• Free, first-come, first-serve parking available
• No holiday or weekend RTO is permitted, with a maximum of 5 days RTO and no more than 2 consecutive days
• No home units are assigned and floating may occur outside primary competency, with a team-based model used for support
• Compliance requirements are strict and lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
