American Traveler is seeking a PCU RN with at least 2 years of recent PCU experience and active WA or compact RN license to join the Nursing Float Pool on 12-hour night shifts.

• Position is based in the Nursing Float Pool, primarily supporting PCU, ED holding, and a variety of units including ICU, MS, CCU, Rehab, and COVID overflow
• Primary unit will be the ED holding area which serves a mixed diagnosis patient population
• Patient ratios are typically 1:4 for PCU, 1:2 for ICU, and 1:5 for medical-surgical
• Will float to other units depending on hospital needs and within scope of practice
• 12-hour night shifts with varying weekend requirements based on unit needs
• Epic is used for EMR documentation
• Facility uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required (must be in hand or proof of pending application submitted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, chest tubes, lumbar drains, and IV medication titration (including Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, non-DKA insulin, heparin, and sometimes Cardene)
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Excellent communication and patient education skills required

Additional Information

• RNs work across several specialized units, requiring adaptability and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment
• Will primarily manage mixed-diagnosis patients in ED holding, including isolation and non-ambulatory cases
• Support team includes techs, 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage
• Comprehensive orientation includes 2 hospital days, 1 unit day, and 4 hours for floating units
• Traveler telemetry competency assessment is required
• Up to 5 days off approved during assignment; requests for additional time reviewed individually and must be added at the end of contract
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• No self-scheduling or holiday requests; schedules are provided three weeks at a time
• Scrub color is not specified
