Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (PCU/Telemetry) position requiring recent experience with trauma level 1 facilities and EPIC charting.

Details

• Position is in an Intermediate Care (PCU/Telemetry) unit with a cardiology focus, including post-cath, STEMI, and structural heart patients
• Hospital setting at a large, academic teaching facility with trauma level 1 designation
• 12-hour day shifts with flexible scheduling to meet unit needs, including every other weekend
• Floating required to units within the central PCU pool, with travelers floating first
• EPIC EMR is used and recent (within 2 years) experience is required

Requirements

• Active VT or compact state RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of intermediate care or related nursing experience
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS must be obtained prior to start)
• Previous experience in a large, trauma level 1 academic teaching setting required
• Recent experience with EPIC EMR within the past 2 years is mandatory

Additional Information

• Care for high-acuity cardiovascular patients, including those post-cardiac cath and STEMI
• Must be able to adapt to schedule changes based on unit need
• No block scheduling is permitted
• Regular bi-weekly orientation sessions are offered
• A personal vehicle or reliable transportation is necessary as public transport is not available in the area
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
• Candidates must be prepared to work any day of the week, including weekends
• Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained for consideration
