Description

American Traveler is seeking a RN with at least two years of recent Med/Surg acute care experience for a night shift correctional setting, requiring an active IL RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Work within a correctional facility setting
• Medical-Surgical nursing in a correctional unit
• Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00pm to 7:30am
• Required to work every other weekend, totaling two weekends per month
• Mandatory floating within scope to other units or Cook County facilities as needed, with potential notification up to 2 hours before the shift and within 50 miles
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Floating outside primary area of competency may occur, with team-based support provided
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of application
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
• Correctional facility experience preferred
• Must live within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Proof of COVID vaccination is required

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Free first-come, first-serve parking available
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO approved for weekends, holidays, or days adjacent to holidays
• Strict adherence to compliance including lab work completion within 72 hours of acceptance
• Team-based support model used if floated outside of primary competency
• No pending licenses accepted; license must be active at time of consideration
