American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with an active IL license for a night shift Med/Surg position in a correctional facility, requiring strong acute care experience and mandatory floating.

Details

• Work in a correctional facility within the Med/Surg unit
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00pm - 7:30am)
• Required to work every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• No block scheduling accommodations or special scheduling requests allowed
• Mandatory float policy: must float within scope and potentially to other units or facilities within 50 miles at the facility’s discretion
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
• Correctional nursing experience preferred
• Must live within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required

Additional Information

• May be floated outside primary competency; team-based support model will be used as needed
• Compliance is strict; lab work must be completed within 72 hours after accepting an offer
• Scrub color is navy blue

• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO allowed before/after holidays or on weekends
• No holiday RTO approval and failure to comply with holiday policy can result in contract cancellation
