American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR position requiring both scrub and circulate skills with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures.

• Work in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) of a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient population includes cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases, as well as transplant and pancreatic (Whipple) procedures
• Scrub and circulate duties required for all major CVOR cases
• Uses EPIC for charting; prior EPIC experience may be required
• Day shift with 3x12 hour schedule, starting at various times between 0630 and 1100 as needed
• Rotating shift start times and call required, including 3-4 weekday and 1-2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule or as needed by the unit
• Weekend coverage required per call policy
• Holiday shifts required as determined in advance
• Expected to float within the service line as needed

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required (pending license may be accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least 2 years of recent CVOR experience required; candidates with 1 year of experience must have worked in a Level 1 trauma facility
• Scrub and circulate experience for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases required
• Prior Epic EMR experience is preferred or required for certain units
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• No local candidates accepted
• No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted during the contract
• BSN is preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for open and endovascular cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant surgeries
• Transplant cases may involve liver, kidney, or pancreas procedures
• Must wear navy blue scrubs while on duty
• Team structure includes support staff and other specialized surgical team members
• First-time travelers accepted only with more than 2 years of Level 1 trauma experience
• Travelers are expected to complete hospital orientation and required training modules
• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work for up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break
• Parking for orientation is available but not reimbursed; monthly passes are available for ongoing parking
