American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN to work night shifts in a busy Emergency Department requiring a compact or NC RN license and 2 years of recent ED RN experience.

Details

• Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department with 32 vertical care areas
• Cares for all ages with high acuity, including heavy trauma stabilization, mental health, and substance abuse cases
• Average daily patient volume exceeds 200 in a fast-paced environment
• Patient ratios typically 1:4 for RNs and LPNs, 1:20 for CNAs
• Required to float to multiple facilities within Region 1 as needed, including freestanding EDs
• Uses EPIC for electronic medical records
• Works 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend rotation
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travelers must work 75% of holidays
• Six-week scheduling cycle

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Experience with adult and pediatric emergency care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation
• Recent unit specialty experience within the last year required
• Experience using EPIC EMR preferred
• Must provide the last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB for consideration
• At least one professional reference from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge RN dated within one year is required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the home unit; local candidates not accepted
• Former employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least one year to be eligible

• Primary responsibilities include providing care in a high-acuity ED for diverse patient populations
• Required to float between facilities within the assigned region as needed
• Support team includes CNAs, receptionists, and a charge nurse
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation and two departmental training days
• Expected to comply with a navy scrub dress code

• First-time travelers may be considered but are not preferred
• Up to 6 days of requested time off can be approved, excluding holidays, and time must be added to contract end to meet required hours
