American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position, requiring a compact or NC RN license and expertise with high-acuity pediatric cardiac patients.

• Work in a 20-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU within a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Care for pediatric patients ages 0-18 with congenital heart differences, transplants, s/p cath lab, VADs, ECMO, Impella, dialysis, and Aquadex
• Patient ratios vary between 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1 depending on acuity
• Variable rotating shifts with 12-hour shifts (0645-1845, 1845-0645)
• Weekend rotation includes 3-4 weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) within a 6-week cycle
• Holiday coverage required on every other major holiday
• Required to float as needed to PICU, NICU, and General Pediatrics
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Centralized and bedside patient monitoring
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience in a similar setting
• BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with fresh open-heart post-op patients, pediatric transplant, and devices such as Aquadex (renal replacement therapy), Impella, ECMO
• Epic EMR experience required
• Competency to float to PICU required and will be discussed during interview
• Must provide last 4 of SSN and full DOB for consideration
• At least one professional reference from a recent supervisor, manager, director, or charge RN within the past year is required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

• Responsibilities include care for medically complex cardiac patients pre- and post-surgery or transplant
• Support team includes charge nurse, resource nurse, RT, intensivist, and cardiologist 24/7
• Health care tech and unit secretary provide support on each shift
• Department/unit orientation includes NEO and two days of departmental training
• Must wear navy scrubs
