Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department assignment requiring strong trauma skills and active compact or TX RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a busy Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 Fast Track, and 5 behavioral health spaces
• Patient ratios are 1:4 in ED, 1:5 in behavioral health, and 1:3 for cardiac/trauma
• Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends required
• Must float to Free Standing Emergency Departments (FSEDs) within the facility as needed
• Utilizes Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 rapid infusers, Stryker stretchers
• MEDITECH EMR is used on this unit

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI certification (or acceptable alternatives) required for all Emergency Department RNs
• MEDITECH EMR experience preferred
• Must provide US Social Security Number and date of birth for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)

Additional Information

• Typical procedures performed include splinting, EKGs, trauma assists, central lines, rapid infuser operation, airway support, and behavioral health de-escalation
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs for RNs
• Team consists of Charge RN, PCTs, Paramedic, LVN, and additional mid-shift support
• Multitasking, teamwork, and being a self-starter are essential qualities for success in this role
• Active Unit-Based Council and social committee contribute to an engaging team environment
• Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
