American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU/Recovery Care position requiring a compact or ND RN license and strong post-anesthesia care skills.

Details

• Work in an acute care hospital setting within the PACU/Recovery Care unit
• Cares for orthopedic, foot & ankle, and hand surgical patients, both outpatient and inpatient
• Assists in recovery of patients undergoing ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy)
• Unit features 10 operating rooms, 17 PACU bays, and 28 pre/post op rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1-2 in PACU and 2-3 in Recovery Care
• Uses EPIC EMR, Omnicell medication dispensing, bladder scanner, and Philips cardiac monitors
• Day shifts only with variable start times; 4 ten-hour shifts preferred
• No weekend or on-call requirements; may need to stay until last patient leaves as needed
• Possible floating to Fargo SMCF PACU or Fargo Broadway PACU

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU or relevant RN experience
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Proficient in EPIC charting and use of Omnicell medication system
• Comfortable performing head-to-toe assessments, airway management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and IV medication administration
• Able to assist with Foley and straight catheter placement
• Experience administering procedural sedation for nerve block procedures

• Unit is closed on Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day

• Local candidates within 80 miles may be accepted with adjusted compensation
