Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with Epic documentation experience and strong knowledge of Impella and NxStage devices.

Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00-19:30
• Care for critically ill adult patients, including those with advanced cardiac and renal support devices
• Nursing patient ratios are typically 1:2, occasionally flexing up to 1:3
• Floating required to all ICUs and may include ED, PACU, or occasionally MS/PCU units with higher ratios
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No call required
• Uses Epic electronic medical record system

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU RN experience
• Experience with Epic charting required
• ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIH certifications required (CPI can be obtained onsite)
• Experience with Impella and NxStage equipment strongly preferred
• Must be able to perform all lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
• Must be able to care for COVID-19 and other isolation patients
• Must know personal N95 mask size

Additional Information

• Nurses use equipment including Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius CRRT, Edwards Lifesciences monitors, Medtronic EVD systems, Arctic Sun, GE Monitors, Hill Rom beds, Pyxis, and Veratron bladder scanners
• Responsibilities include critical care procedures and management of complex medical devices
• Team structure provides support but independent skills are required
• Returning permanent employees must have been gone for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off during the assignment
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius
