Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Behavioral Health night shift position in Oklahoma, requiring at least 6 months of psychiatric nursing experience and valid licensure.

Details

• Behavioral health unit in a hospital setting
• 12-hour night shifts totaling 36 hours per week
• Weekend shifts may be required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS, AHA) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum of 6 months psychiatric experience required
• De-escalation training preferred
• Recent travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Participate in patient care planning and attend weekly clinical meetings
• Provide medication education and lead therapeutic groups for patients and families
• Maintain accurate documentation and report observations to clinical staff
• Train LPNs and Mental Health Technicians on charting, vital signs, routines, and de-escalation techniques
• Maintain Therapeutic Options certification
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be requested
• Local candidates will be considered at a reduced rate
• Expected to act as a positive role model for patients and colleagues
