American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Nurse Manager for a MedSurg/Telemetry float pool role requiring recent charge RN experience and a current CA RN license.

Details

• Work in an acute care setting within the MedSurg/Telemetry float pool
• Float pool includes varied med-surg and telemetry patient populations
• Uses Cerner EMR system; Cerner experience preferred
• Day shifts, 12 hours in length, with every other weekend required
• First to float as needed based on census and staffing

Requirements

• Active and current CA RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Recent experience as a charge RN in the last assignment is mandatory
• Current ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS (AHA or APEX) certifications required
• No first-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Must submit two professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Role blends charge nurse, clinical mentor, and nurse manager duties to provide on-shift leadership and support
• Responsible for rounding on patients and addressing service and safety concerns
• Acts as a resource for clinical and interpersonal issues and may take charge nurse assignments as needed
• Three weeks of orientation provided: the first week in classroom and two weeks on unit
• Returning candidates may not have been directly employed by the associated health system within the past year
• Pass/fail testing on Relias Dysrhythmia and sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes required during orientation for applicable regions
• Day and every-other-weekend shifts required, float as needed based on staffing
• Professional attire or scrubs in line with hospital requirements
