Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical admissions unit in an acute, fast-paced Level 1 trauma environment requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 15-bed Medical/Surgical admissions unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Patients are newly admitted, awaiting assignment to other units, requiring assessment and initial care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Uses Epic EMR, Zebra phones for communication, Omnicell for medication management, and Aleris IV pumps
• Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), with every other weekend and holiday required
• No on-call required
• Expected to float to other medical/surgical units as needed

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from AHA
• Minimum of 2 years Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Previous Level 1 trauma center experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must be able to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Cannot be considered if residing within a 60-mile radius of the facility

Additional Information

• Responsible for initial admission assessments and ongoing care until patients are transferred to designated units
• New, fast-paced medical/surgical department with 15 private rooms
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Every other holiday coverage required
