American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an AZ or compact RN license and a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Position is in an acute care hospital on the Labor & Delivery unit
• Unit includes 7 L&D beds, 2 triage beds, and 10 postpartum beds
• Handles 1–3 births per day, with approximately 830 births per year
• Nurses typically care for 1–2 patients at a time
• Shifts are 12 hours, with options for days (6a-6p) or nights (6p-6a)
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Call is required for one shift per 4-week schedule
• May float to Emergency Department or Med-Surg units if experienced
• Charting is done using Allscripts EMR

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), NIHSS, advanced or intermediate fetal monitoring (not via AWHONN)
• Must have C-section experience and proficiency in fetal monitoring
• Must be able to manage high-risk OB cases and handle OB emergencies without in-house OB/Neonatologist
• Ability to provide care for patients with pre-eclampsia
• Experience with Allscripts EMR preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for Labor & Delivery and couplet care as needed
• Support from OB scrub tech, patient care technician, health unit secretary, and 24/7 respiratory therapist
• 24/7 pharmacy support is available
• Nurse manager may assist with patient care as needed
• Orientation is provided every Monday with 8 hours of training
• Unit operates as a Level 3 trauma center
