American Traveler is hiring a Chemo Certified RN for a stepdown oncology position requiring 2 years of PCU or stepdown experience and a Michigan RN license.

Details

• Work in a stepdown oncology unit caring for general med/oncology stepdown patients
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6, with support staff available if ratios increase
• Administer chemotherapy via IV and start IVs
• Utilizes Welch Allyn vital sign towers and Sigma IV pumps
• EPIC is used for documentation
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call duties
• Floating required to other med/surg areas, including AU and ER, to care for med/surg patients
• Day shifts consist of four 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• ONCC or ONS chemotherapy certification required (will accept pending ONS but ONCC must be in hand)
• Minimum of 2 years PCU or stepdown experience required
• Experience with administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system preferred

Additional Information

• Block scheduling may be accommodated if requested in advance
• Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment
• RTO requests after offer must be discussed with the onsite manager
• Weekend assignments are scheduled by management, while self-scheduling is available for other shifts
• Support staff will be provided if nurse-patient ratios increase and assignment ratios may decrease for chemo admits
• Charge RN is not typically assigned to patient care
