Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN with at least one year of pediatric CVICU experience for a night shift position in a pediatric cardiovascular ICU.

Details

• Work in a pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes critically ill pediatric cardiac patients with complex health needs
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• Floating may be required
• Level 1 trauma experience required

Requirements

• Active OK RN or compact state RN license
• Minimum one year of pediatric CVICU nursing experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from AHA
• Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills
• Ability to perform nursing procedures and interventions appropriate for a CVICU setting

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for a designated group of patients and provide specialized cardiovascular intensive care
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses, noting all changes in physician orders
• Engage patients’ families in ongoing care plans and discharge processes
• No local candidates accepted due to a 50-mile radius rule
• Must maintain a professional working relationship with interdisciplinary team members
