American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Cardiac Telemetry position requiring recent neuro stepdown and telemetry experience, as well as an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Position is in a 24-bed IMC unit focusing on adult cardiac telemetry and neuro stepdown care
• Night shifts are scheduled (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4-5
• Patient population consists of adults with post-MI, post cardiac cath, dysrhythmias, and neuro stepdown needs
• Every other weekend is required
• Agency staff may be required to float to other units or campuses within their competency
• Uses Epic EMR, and one year of Epic experience is required

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact multistate RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in cardiac telemetry and neuro stepdown within an IMC or similar setting
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Proven skills in IV starts, port access, PICC, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with trach management, oxygen therapies including HFNC and CPAP/BIPAP, chest tubes, ABG interpretation, and non-invasive respiratory support
• GI care including feeding tube management required
• Ability to manage PCA, procedural sedation, heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Competence in wound care including wound vacs, isolation precautions, renal failure, pre/post hemodialysis, and rapid response procedures
• One year of prior Epic EMR use required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus for eligibility

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care for adults with complex cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and GI needs
• Participation in rapid response situations and advanced hemodynamic monitoring may be required
• Not open to first-time travelers
• Must be able to work every other weekend and accept facility-determined holiday and floating assignments
• Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided by the facility upon assignment
