Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Neuro ICU RN with a valid MD or compact license and at least two years of neuro critical care experience.

Details

• Position is in a Neuro Critical Care Unit (Neuro ICU) at a large hospital
• Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-operative neurosurgical cases
• Rotating 12-hour shifts (7AM/7PM) with both day and night requirements
• Expectation to work 3 out of every 6 weekends
• On-call responsibilities required 2 times per 6-week schedule
• Floating as needed to units with similar skill sets including ICU and IMC
• Uses Epic as the electronic medical record system

Requirements

• Active RN license in Maryland or a compact state
• Current BLS certification
• At least two years of neuro critical care nursing experience
• Experience in facilities with at least 500 beds
• Epic EMR experience required
• ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course are preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for monitoring and caring for neurologically complex and critically ill patients
• Will participate in specialized post-operative neurosurgical care and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams
• Orientation provided on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Locals accepted at the same rate except for certain facilities with radius restrictions
