American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Labor and Delivery unit, requiring a NC or compact RN license and strong skills in high-volume obstetric care.

Details

• Work in a busy hospital Labor and Delivery unit with a high volume of births
• Average 20 births and 30-40 admissions per 24 hours across 20 rooms
• Care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks gestation and greater for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care, as well as high-risk patients under 16 weeks in a special maternity unit
• Obstetrical triage unit present for screening and outpatient procedures
• Scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage performed
• 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating as needed, including to a high risk OB unit
• No on-call requirement
• Accepting 13 to 26 week contracts

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience; 3 years strongly preferred
• BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications required
• Competency in circulating, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
• Experience in a large, high-volume obstetric setting required
• Familiarity with Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR systems required

Additional Information

• Provide high acuity obstetric nursing care in a very fast-paced environment
• Orientation consists of 24 hours
• Scrubs are provided (blue)
• First-time travelers will be considered if experienced in similar settings
• No RTO allowed after booking; maximum of 7 days RTO allowed prior to booking
