American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in Hawaii requiring an active HI RN license and critical care experience.

Details

• Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a hospital setting
• Care for patients in pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery after surgery
• Shifts are variable with hours ranging from 8, 10, to 12 hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Float between ASU and PACU units may be required
• On-call shifts required 0-3 times per month, including 8-hour nights and 24-hour coverage on weekends/holidays
• Equipment used includes Meditech, PCA pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS warmers, HP monitors, and Phillips monitors

Requirements

• Current active HI RN license required by start of assignment
• Minimum 2 years of PACU or critical care experience (ER or ICU) in a hospital setting accepted
• BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• PALS certification is recommended and may be required for certain positions
• Other specialty certifications such as NIHSS or TNCC may be preferred or required for specific roles

Additional Information

• Primary duties include caring for patients post-surgery, assessing incision sites, monitoring for stability or complications, and tracking vital indicators
• Critical thinking and advanced knowledge of anesthesiology are essential
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours before the start date for clearance and testing
• Proof of flu vaccination or an approved exemption is required prior to the contract start date and can be completed at employee health clearance
• Plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to allow for Employee Health processing
