American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg Orthopedics position in a Level 1 Trauma setting with EPIC experience required.

Details

• Work in the inpatient Orthopedics unit at a hospital
• Night shift schedule from 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Care for orthopedic and med/surg patient populations
• Requires Level 1 Trauma experience
• Use of EPIC EMR for documentation
• Set up and manipulate orthopedic traction devices and manage wound appliances

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary licenses accepted
• Minimum of one year of relevant RN experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• EPIC charting experience is required
• Level 1 Trauma experience is required
• English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered

Additional Information

• Perform frequent assessments and educate patients on wound care, mobility, and medication management
• Coordinate care with physician and surgeon partners and delegate tasks to healthcare team staff
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation to facilitate team communication
• Annual education required for compliance with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program
• Up to 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract
• First time travelers are accepted
• Travel partner submissions are not allowed
• Maximum service at this health system is 1 year; 6-month break required before returning
