American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neurology Med/Surg position on a comprehensive stroke and neuro floor, with night shifts and stroke care responsibilities.

Details

• Position is based on a hospital Neurosciences unit specializing in stroke, neuro, ortho, and spine patients
• Work schedule consists of four 12-hour night shifts per week
• Patient ratios are 3:1 for step-down patients and 5:1 for other patients
• May be required to precept and work in the virtual room
• Comprehensive stroke center environment

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a valid multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year of RN experience required
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Stroke experience and NIHSS certification are preferred
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services

Additional Information

• No local candidates allowed; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Duties include medication administration, IV and blood product management, patient assessment, and participation in care planning
• Role involves interacting with family and patients regarding care plans and discharge
• Will assist physicians with patient exams and minor procedures
• Teamwork and effective communication with staff and patients are essential
