American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neurology (Stroke and Neuro) Med/Surg position, requiring an OK or compact RN license and strong neuro experience.

Details

• Work in the Neurosciences unit of a hospital with a focus on stroke, neuro, ortho, and spine patients
• Comprehensive stroke center with both standard and step-down patient populations
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 3:1 for step-down and 5:1 for all other patients
• Night shift schedule, four 12-hour shifts per week
• Occasional precepting responsibilities and possible work in a virtual room

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or a current multistate compact RN (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Stroke experience and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred

Additional Information

• Duties include caring for adult neuro, stroke, ortho, and spine patients, administering medication, and monitoring physiological data
• Role involves documenting patient responses, assisting with minor procedures, and delegating tasks to support staff
• Must maintain effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
• Extensions are limited to one additional contract for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6 month break before reapplying
