Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a progressive care unit position requiring two years of recent telemetry experience and successful completion of a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia test.

Details

• Work in a progressive care unit (PCU) with 18 or more beds
• Patient population includes telemetry cases
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), three shifts per week
• Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR is used; experience is preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active RN license from New Mexico or a Compact State
• Minimum two years of current experience in a telemetry/progressive care unit with at least 18 beds
• Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
• Must successfully pass an onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test, with one retest allowed
• No local candidates; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Returning former permanent staff must have at least a 1-year gap before being eligible

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
• Coordinate patient care and collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, documenting according to protocols and policies
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as required
• BCA testing is administered during orientation with termination after two failed attempts
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required according to department needs
