Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg orthopedic unit night shift position requiring charge capabilities, ortho experience, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in a medical surgical orthopedic unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes total joint replacements, orthopedic spine surgeries, and other orthopedic procedures
• Utilizes specialized equipment such as bladder scanners, Hoyer lifts, and orthopedic braces
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Floating to other inpatient units such as rehab, post-op trauma, ortho neuro trauma, med-surg, oncology, and observation may be required
• Emergency event team assignment may occur as directed by the unit manager

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg ortho nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience and willingness to take charge is required
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ortho specialty experience required
• No first-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must live at least 65 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Must be able to function as a charge nurse as needed
• Must be comfortable participating in emergency or relief team assignments as required
• No on-call requirements for this role
• No more than 2 weeks of requested time off (RTO) may be accommodated
• Dress code and scrub requirements will be provided by the facility
