Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position caring for trauma surgical and abdominal transplant patients in a level 1 trauma or high-volume setting with night shifts.

Details

• Position is in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes trauma surgical and abdominal transplant cases
• Level 1 trauma center or high-volume/teaching facility exposure
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
• Experience with wound care, fracture care, post-surgical care, traction, and patient mobility required
• Experience managing drips such as insulin and heparin is necessary

Requirements

• Active KY or compact state RN license required at the time of consideration
• Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience caring for trauma surgical or abdominal transplant patients in a high-volume or teaching hospital setting required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• No licensure hits will be accepted
• Must provide two supervisor references from the past three years
• Certifications must be attached for consideration
• Permanent residence must be more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Returning permanent staff must be gone at least 6 months before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include caring for PCU patients post-surgery with trauma and abdominal transplant needs
• Involvement in a multidisciplinary team in a level 1 trauma environment
• All requests for time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of application; no additional RTO will be approved after submission
