American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Operating Room position requiring current cardiac OR experience, Epic proficiency, and both circulating and scrub skills.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Operating Room within a major hospital setting
• Patient population includes those requiring cardiac surgery
• Duties include circulating and scrubbing during operations
• Uses Epic EMR for charting; Epic experience required
• Scheduling includes either three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, depending on unit needs
• Day shift; main shift time 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM with potential variations between 6:30 AM and 9:30 PM
• On-call required including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with 6 calls per 6-week schedule
• Rotational day off; no set block scheduling

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 3 years of operating room experience with current cardiac OR experience required
• Prior experience working in large facilities (500+ bed count) required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Responsible for both circulating and scrub nurse duties in the cardiac OR
• Orientation held every 2nd and 4th Monday; candidates must complete paperwork by the preceding Thursday evening
• Must be prepared for variable scheduling and occasional on-call duties including holidays
• Local and non-local candidates are accepted at the same rate except for certain facilities with specific radius rules
