American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Endoscopy position that requires at least one year of experience and an Alaska RN license in hand or pending.

Details

• Work in the hospital's Endoscopy unit of an acute care setting
• Level II Trauma Center and Magnet facility
• Shift consists of four 10-hour day shifts (7:00-17:00)
• On-call required every fifth weekend
• Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience required
• Procedures include EUS, EBUS, ERCP, ION, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy
• No floating required outside the Endoscopy unit for this position
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Free parking available on site
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active Alaska RN license in hand strongly preferred; pending license considered
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and SGNA certification preferred
• Minimum one year of relevant Endoscopy RN experience required
• Demonstrated competency with EUS, EBUS, ERCP, ION, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy procedures
• Experience using Epic charting required
• Minimum of two supervisory references within the last three years required
• Must be able to work at least two of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• Facility only accepts Hepatitis B vaccines (no titers or declinations)
• Return staff must have a gap of at least three months since last permanent employment at the facility

Additional Information

• Main responsibilities include providing perioperative care for endoscopic procedures and assisting with advanced GI procedures
• Position is open to first-time travelers
• Assignment block schedule requests may be accommodated
• Only one five-day or less time-off request allowed per 13-week assignment; no holiday time off for auto-offer positions
• Travelers are required to float between all facilities within the state if needed
• Travelers may work for a maximum of one calendar year before a mandatory six-month break is required
• Facility provides all communication devices needed for assignments
• Pre-start modules are required and average 16 hours to complete
• Housing options in the area may be limited; applicants should plan accordingly
