Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and experience with open heart procedures.

Details

• Work in an acute care Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting
• Unit consists of 6 suites plus a hybrid room, primarily supporting cardiovascular, total joints, general surgery, spine, and urology cases
• Handles 20-30 surgical cases per day
• Shifts are 6:00-14:30 or 14:00-22:30, Monday through Friday with required call
• Call requirements include up to 50% of weeknights and weekends, with a 30-minute response time
• Travelers share call equally with staff after 1-2 weeks of orientation
• Use of Cerner EMR in the operating room
• Hospital-provided scrubs required

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact state RN license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of full-time CVOR or OR experience
• Experience with open heart cardiovascular surgery required
• Recent acute care or operating room experience required
• Ability to take call with a 30-minute response time
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
• Two professional references: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years

Additional Information

• Work closely with a dedicated surgical team including scrub techs, charge nurse, specialty leads, and 24/7 house supervisor support
• Unit-specific orientation provided over 3-5 shifts depending on caseload
• Must pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique skills test during orientation
• Travelers may rarely be floated to assist in other departments, but not to other procedural areas
• Holiday call coverage includes 2-3 shifts per year
• Candidates must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health in the past year
